The artwork purchased in Kenya last year and placed in the exceptional hands of world-renowned conservator Jeffrey Rouse is now ready for auction. Mr. Rouse spent many months stretching and preparing the 6 different Maasai paintings for Clean Water Kenya and did a wonderful job. Jeffrey has done restoration work for England’s Windsor Castle, for the Vatican under the auspices of the late Pope John Paul II and at the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia. We are so fortunate to have the expertise of Mr. Rouse on hand for this project.

As you can see from the photos taken at his shop in New Alexandria, Pennsylvania, these African illustrations of Maasai Life in the Rift Valley of Kenya are remarkable not only in quality and diversity of technique and subject but, visually stunning, as well.

The date and locale for auction has yet to be determined. We’ll keep you posted on the progress of this Fundraising Project. David Kindl, Secretary of the Board of Clean Water Kenya and himself a connoisseur of the arts is heading up this project. Mr. Kindl has spent his life immersed in the theater arts through Saint Vincent’s College and in many local and various theater productions and is also an accomplished musician.

Conservator and Artist Jeffrey Rouse holds degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in both Art History and Painting and can be reached at his New Growth Gallery, 319 West Main Street, New Alexandria, PA. 15670 and online through Facebook.

Keeping watching for further updates on the date and location for Clean Water Kenya’s Art Auction.
