KARANGA CHALLENGE: 10K Registrants only: $40
We use a 1-gallon jug of water to simulate what it is like for a child or adult to retrieve water from a distance from their village. It could take 4-6 hours for someone to retrieve a jerry can of water (about 5 gallons). The jug would be picked up at the 3-mile point and carried to the finish live.
VIRTUAL OPTION ALSO AVAILABLE: $40
Sign up for our virtual option and you can run your own race wherever you like! You will still get a t-shirt and help support our efforts to providing “Clean Water for Kenya”. Virtual racers will not be eligible for awards. Virtual race with shirt and medal will be shipped to your home.

EARLY PACKET PICK UP IS ENCOURAGED: Thursday, May 9th and Friday, May 10th, packets can picked up at the Waynesboro Area YMCA, 810 East Main Street, Waynesboro, PA. Signs will direct you to the packet pick-up location.

“Couch to 5K” Training Program from JAMES SHOES WITH $10 OFF!:

The “Couch to 5K Program” is a designed program for you to follow and will include 1 weekly group run. Congratulations to our 2022 “2nd Annual Run For Clean Water Kenya” 7 Miler and 5K Top Finishers!
It was an amazing Pennsylvania end-of-Summer day! It was warm with a partly cloudy sky and the Race Course was fun and challenging. Everyone said they had a great time and that they would be back for next year’s race!
The Race started and finished in downtown Waynesboro and in-between wound its way through a number of beautiful parks.
Meanwhile, our African Artwork Tent was set up in the Waynesboro Farmer’s Market, also located in the downtown area, and we sold a number of gorgeous Banana Prints and jewelry. We also got the word out about our vital work in Kenya.
Our thanks to the following: to all who participated in the Race and especially to those on the Committee who organized the many facets of the Race; to our volunteers who ran the pre-race and plotted the course, manned the checkpoints, water stations, sign-up tables and Artwork Tent; to the High School Track Team; to our Sponsors who made this all possible and to Mr. Jeff Rock, President of Clean Water Kenya, who envisioned this event and who brought everyone and everything together to make it all work! (I hope I haven’t left anyone out.) Everyone involved did a super job!!!

PARTICULARS: Race registration limited to 500 participants. All proceeds benefit Clean Water Kenya www.cleanwaterkenya.com and race support. ALL Runners will receive a “Finisher Medal”. Cash Awards for the top 3 male and female finishers/top Male and Female Masters (40 and over) plus: medals for top 3 male and female finishers will be recognized in age groups: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Race Medals will be sent to participants in the Virtual Event, but Awards are not given in the Virtual Event.
ENTRY: 7-Miler and 5K Walk/Run: $35 if registered by Sat, August 24, 2022, incl. guaranteed t-shirt and race kit. Afterwards, incl. race day, registration for each race is $45 while shirts last; $40 when shirts are no longer available.

This is the RACE COURSE for our 2nd Annual Run!
An enjoyable yet challenging run that takes you through the downtown area and then in to 1 park for the 5K and 2 parks for the 7 Miler. Pretty cool!
Day Of Race Registration Tent will be in the parking lot just off the Center Square. Everything you need to run the race will be there.
Our Merchandise Tent will be in the Center Square Park where we’ll have African Artwork including paintings, carvings, sculptures, jewelry, CWK hats, t-shirts and more!
Don’t forget Waynesboro’s 1st International Day following the Race! Waynesboro is a very friendly, inviting town of over 11,000 with plenty of shops, restaurants and things to do! The downtown area has some wonderful old architecture and structures you’ll enjoy as you stroll the area. Make sure you avail yourself of this town’s hospitality!
If you can’t make the race you can always run it virtually and still get some goodies! Plus, you’ll be supporting a great cause: Saving Lives Every Day Through Access To Clean Water!
