Barnabas Mutua was born and raised in Kenya and after high school attended Kenya Polytechnic University where he earned a degree in Business Management. He has worked in the marketing department of both Total Kenya and Caltex Kenya.
Mr. Mutua is currently the Founder and Director of the Havilla Childrens Center in Nairobi, a charity organization which works to support impoverished children from the Kibera Slum and surrounding area. The Havilla Childrens Center provides a primary education from kindergarten through fifth grade free of charge. It also provides uniforms, shoes and 2 guaranteed meals per day to each child. HCC currently has over 185 children enrolled. Mr. Mutua helped to found the Havilla Center in 2009. He himself lived 14 years in Kibera Slum. (http://www.havillacc.com/)
Mr. Mutua also works with Global Crossroads, a volunteer organization headquartered in Houston, Texas. Barnabus is our on-site Liason with Dr. Mereu and the Maasai Community.
Mr. Mutua is a devoted Christian and serves on the worship team of his church. He is married to the former Millar Khalumba and is the father of two children: Joseph and Deena.
