Spring is coming and that means it’s time to raise awareness of the need for Clean Water in Kenya and the Great Rift Valley!

This year we’re asking for your support to help us begin a New Venture in Kenya: our COMBO INITIATIVE. We’re taking our efforts to the next level by providing both a Portable Bio-Water Filter and a Rain Barrel to every family in the Kampo Tribe and every village in the Maasai Tribe.

Water Filter Manufactured in Limuru, Kenya

The difference in distribution is due to living norms within each culture. Kampo villages tend to be very large consisting of hundreds of households (some over a thousand or more) where the Maasai tend to be much smaller having only a few households in each village.

We’re utilizing the CHUJIO FILTER SYSTEM locally manufactured in Limuru, Kenya about 45 minutes N.E. of Nairobi. It does the same excellent job of filtering out biological pathogens and reduces the diahrreal incidence by up to 70%! It’s also less expensive at only $25 USD per/filter.

The Chujio Filter System has been studied and tested by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Tulane University, the Universities of Colorado and North Carolina and used extensively around the world by the Red Cross, Red Crescent, UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders, PLAN International, Project Concern International, OXFAM and USAID. We’re delighted to be partnering with CHUJIO CERAMICS in bringing this proven low-tech, inexpensive and highly efficient filtration system to our friends in Kenya.

Total cost for a Chujio Filter and Rain Barrel is $49 USD. For the cost of a tank of gas or a movie and a meal you can bring clean water to a family or village for up to 5 YEARS. Whatever amount of contribution you can make to help save lives is greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
